I have the privilege of providing the musical vibes at an upcoming Summer Celebration which will be happening at the King Street Cooperative Community Garden in Whitby, Ontario! (SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 2024 FROM 10AM - 2PM)
As more and more people are finding themselves living in locations that do not offer them an outdoor space of their own - whether it's a basement apartment, a room rental, or perhaps a condo/apartment unit - having access to community based gardens is becoming more attractive to more people. Not only a place to grow your own food, flowers or plants, but also a way to connect with others doing the same.
The King Street Cooperative Community Garden is a relatively new garden that has been put together by volunteers right in the middle of a residential area of south Whitby. Just a stone's throw from the Whitby Library and the well-known "four corners" of downtown Whitby is where you'll find this hidden gem!
If you've ever wondered what they are all about, or how to get involved, this might be a great opportunity for you to check it all out! Plus, there'll be some live music courtesy of yours truly (thinking of changing my name for the day... I'm thinking... "Brian Garden" ;) There will also be free face painting, craft activity and some a chance to meet some new folks from the area.
